“Revolutionizing Portability: Apple iPad Mini (2024)

unboxing & first impressions:
But before doing the unboxing, the iPad space has become very interesting. Before opening it & talking about it, you need to understand which is the correct iPad for you. If I talk about the iPads that are available now, then obviously you have the old generation iPad 10, then you have iPad Air, then you have iPad Pro & in between you have iPad mini.
To be honest, if I look at the value for money, then you get the iPad 10 in Rs 30-32K. You get a good 10.9” screen, servo etc. So according to the value for money, that’s the good one. But if you ask me why I don’t buy the 11” iPad Air? You’re getting a bigger screen & it’s on the M2 chipset. But in single core, the iPad mini still performs better.
And if I talk about the bezels, there are 4 uniform sized bezels. And you can hold it in one hand, look at this. And bezels in a tablet are important because when you’re reading, you can hold it like this without touching the screen. And quickly, let me tell you about the specifications. It’s an A17 Pro, so yes, that’s good.
It’s 3nm, so it’s more power efficient & powerful. It also supports ray tracing for gaming, so that’s good. If it was 120Hz instead of 60Hz, that would’ve been nice. But I don’t think ProMotion will give you this in Rs 50K. You get ProMotion only in Pro devices. So yeah, that’s not there. The good thing is that they’ve doubled the storage & RAM.
Yes, if you’re looking for a tablet, then it should be around Rs 7-9K. But it’s not necessary as the IOS app is very optimised. Interestingly, the front facing selfie camera is on the shorter side & I’m ok with it. Because a lot of times, you’re going to hold the tablet in 1 hand like this. So I think it makes sense.
Generally, I’d say that the selfie camera should be on the longer side. But yeah, it’s on the shorter side & I’m ok with it. It’s a 12MP selfie camera & there’s a 12MP selfie camera on the back as well. And I’m going to talk a little about the performance of the A17 Pro as that’s a big change. It has a 6 core CPU & a 5 core GPU which supports Ray Tracing.
And we’ve played some games & it’s very powerful. You can definitely play AAA rated games & they run very well. So this is a beautiful gaming device, that I’ll definitely say. I still use my first iPad mini. In fact, if you want to carry it in a pocket, it’ll fit inside your pockets. And if we add the folio, it becomes beautiful.
Look at this, I’ll show you. Oh, this is nice. By the way, I forgot to tell you that you get cellular connectivity as well. But you get eSIM & there’s Wi-Fi & cellular connectivity. So the price starts from Rs 50K for the base variant & goes all the way up to Rs 95K for the 512GB cellular variant. If I talk about connectivity, there’s Wi-Fi 6E & Bluetooth 5.3 support.
So this is the iPad Mini. As I said earlier, you have to decide which is the perfect fit for you. If you want value for money, then you can definitely look at the iPad 10th generation. If you want a portable form factor & a powerful tablet, then you can look at this. If you want a big display, then you can look at the M2 iPad Air for Rs 10K.
